Our Centres
Think Like a Pony began at our flagship Centre in Leeds, the headquarters of our programme. Here, up to 200 children each week step into a space that is so much more than a riding facility. It is a thriving, buzzing environment where young people are empowered, supported, and encouraged to grow in confidence, resilience, and connection – with ponies and with themselves. More recently we have expanded to the Southwest, where our Lead Outreach Instructor, Sophie Hildreth, runs a Centre dedicated to the same vision. Both Centres share the same ethos of relationship-based horsemanship and child empowerment, while reflecting the unique needs of their communities.
Our vision is to bring Think Like a Pony to many more regions, so that more families and children can experience the transformative impact of our approach.
The Leeds centre – the heart of our organisation
From the moment a family walks through the gates, they step into a place where relationships come first. Every element of the centre – from the calm, welcoming atmosphere to the gentle rhythm of life with ponies, is designed to encourage self-discovery and trust.
Parents and carers are an integral part of the journey. Dedicated viewing areas allow them to watch their child’s progress unfold, while our picnic area offers space to pause, share experiences, and be part of the transformation taking place.

Founder Lynn Henry dreamed of creating a centre where every child could feel ownership – a place that was theirs. Here, children develop not only their horsemanship skills, but also the inner confidence and self-belief to carry into every part of their lives.
Growing our impact
With our expanded facilities, we’ve doubled our capacity to welcome children from all walks of life – from those in vulnerable circumstances to those keen to deepen their riding and pony care skills in a holistic, ethical way.
Our Leeds Centre is the beating heart of Think Like a Pony – a hub for learning, connection, and transformation. It’s a place where the lessons children learn will stay with them for life, and where families can share in moments that will be remembered for generations.

Our mission in the
South West
Our work has now extended to Cornwall with the opening of the Think Like a Pony South West Centre. Nestled in the rolling countryside on the border between Devon and Cornwall, this new hub brings the same values, safety, and relationship-based learning that our Leeds flagship is known for, while embracing the unique character and needs of the local community.
Think Like a Pony South West offers a unique blend of services focused on healing and growth for both horses and young people. The centre specialises in horse rehabilitation and training, runs a supportive Youth Development programme, operates a holistic riding school, and hosts horsemanship camps – all designed to build confidence, connection, and wellbeing through the powerful bond between ponies and people.
Families in the South West can now access:
- Children’s Horsemanship Programmes – Following the full Think Like a Pony syllabus, tailored to meet each child’s needs.
- Pony Rehabilitation Programmes – Where rescued ponies regain trust, health, and confidence through gentle, consistent care.
- Healing Experiences for Families – Special sessions for those navigating bereavement or serious illness, offering a safe space for connection and emotional support.
