Learning to Communicate and Ride in Balance
Through our award-winning programme children learn all aspects of horsemanship and horse care, in an holistic and ethical way.
Our programme centres on three simple areas we believe children need to learn:
- to communicate effectively and safely with a pony on the ground
- to ride with confidence and balance in the saddle
- to understand horse care from the pony's perspective, learning what a pony needs and how to care for them
To get the most out of their lessons, children ride one-to-one with an instructor in private lessons to begin with. This gives them the time, space and support they need to develop the foundation skills required to ride in harmony with their pony. When children are fully independent and balanced, they can join a semi-private or shared lesson. We do not offer large group lessons as we prioritise your child's learning and safety. All riding school lessons follow the structure of the Think Like A Pony Online Club, and students are asked to look at and work through badges at home between their lessons to support their learning to gain a fully holistic horsemanship education.
The Lessons we offer are:
- one-to-one horsemanship and riding lessons
- Semi-private, shared riding and horsemanship lessons
- holistic pony care and groundwork lessons
- fun and educational holiday activities
